I'm not spamming, I'm just overjoyed that once, finally, in my neck of the woods, a Con is actually happening in my home state, somewhere not a six hour drive and several grand worth of hotel expenses in cost.
I really really wanted to go to magfest, I really did.
Anyways there's a con going on at UCONN in Storrs, CT from Friday the 5th to the 7th of Feb. I didn't even hear about it until the Nostalgia Critic announced he was going.
Best part is the Con is free! I talked to a friend of mine who came up with the brilliant plan to use student funds to do it, but the rules are that if you use student funds, you can't turn a profit, so admission must be free!
I know you guys at PBC are not far from this state, consider going, maybe? Please?! _________________ Note to my neighbors, those rumblings you heard earlier was not an earthquake, I now have nuclear power. |

Wish I coulda made it. Stinkin' Utah has one ONE convention called CONduit that is Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Roleplaying, Tabletop Gaming, and Anime all rolled into one dysfunctional lump. At least everyone keeps pretty civil and there aren't any franchise VS franchise shouting matches. (SIGH) I gotta move back East. Maybe go back to Tennessee... _________________ My feet hurt...with DESTINY! |

Oh man I have to say that these were the best two days I've EVER had living in this state, and I've lived here for 24 years!
The panels I went to were great. There was a Professor who attended who gave a lecture on Halo as the new work of Homer, they even had an improv group do comedy and they were funny.
The gaming room was always seeing at least a dozen people playing MW2, not my cup of tea though, I wish there was a larger Halo presence.
But like I mentioned the other day, the best day ever for me was that friday when I got to watch the MST3K version of Space Mutiny starring the awesomly terrible Reb Brown WITH the Nostalgia Critic and his brother Rob. You want to talk about levels of geekly awesome that can cause an anti-time anomoly in the Devron system, that's what they're talking about.
Oh and I met a nice girl! That doesn't happen either!
God I hope they do this again! It was a total fluke that it happened at all. Conventions never happen this close to this side of the country, they're usually all in Cali, Texas or Seatle. _________________ Note to my neighbors, those rumblings you heard earlier was not an earthquake, I now have nuclear power. |
